Today I dropped in on an open studio life drawing. It has been a decade+ since I attended a nude model studio. I arrived late, loud and clumsy, The probability of getting a great spot was zilch. So I paced back and forth carrying a very tall easel, sketch pad,purse and phone, directly in the center of the room. Someone either lost patience or felt sorry for me and proceeded to slide over so that I could root my large tree easel. Favorably the model was taking a 5min break. I was so awkward,loud and spastic as I tried to adjust the easel, stool and my art pad. The room was way to calm for my nerves (soothing spa like music playing) I just finished an 8 +hour work day and a 1hour and forty five minute drive of steady traffic I was WIRED. In order to make this a positive practice I took a deep breath IN placed my earbuds and out belt my MUSIC.
9/14 Second Nude Open Studio ~ I was lacking energy today. I get a major arm work out when I'm sketching with charcoal, I'm very heavy handed and fast when sketching. I enjoy creating motion with what every material I'm working with.
9/21 Third Nude Open Studio Let's continue this for another month.
